The Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 powered Chromebook likely has a Wacom pressure sensitive smart stylus, according to a commit made on the Chromium Gerrit. We already knew it was likely going to include a stylus, but this is not your regular stylus. Wacom provides some of the world’s leading technology in interactive pen displays and styluses. This could very well be a smart stylus as it requires power to function.
As we’ve already gathered, it would appear that this particular Chromebook (codenamed “cheza”) is going to be an enthusiast’s dream. But how does a pressure sensitive stylus add to that? Not only is it great for artists who pick up the device for animation or drawing, but smart features may make it even better. We’ve already seen that the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 likely has something similar. If it can be used for controlling music and other device features as well, cheza may truly hit it off with regular users and enthusiasts alike.
So what else do we know about cheza? We’ve gathered quite a lot of information about it from the Chromium Gerrit already.
- It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845
- It is very likely a detachable Chromebook
- It is likely making use of UFS technology for its storage, and may support Project Fi
- It is currently being prototyped
Apart from that, there isn’t much else that we know. It’s very likely going to be an extremely appealing tablet for those looking for one, especially those who are more artistically inclined. If you aren’t looking for a tablet though, it should still make an incredible laptop. The Snapdragon 845 is no slouch, and UFS technology coupled with it should allow for high-performance. That and it likely being able to make use of mobile data means that you can use it anywhere, making it a truly portable device. In its current state, it’s got something for everyone.
