HTC has just released their financial report for the last quarter of 2015. Things aren’t looking so great as far as profits are concerned, but as least the company has shown to be doing better. HTC says they lost $101 million in Q4 and while this is definitely bad news, it’s better than the $139 million they lost in Q3 and the $252 million they lost in Q2.
Tablets made up just 5% of Sony Mobile’s revenue in 2013 and the company might be withdrawing from the tablet market entirely. A blog post from a Sony store manager claims they received marketing material that suggests the company will not be manufacturing tablets anymore. While still not confirmed, it would make sense for Sony Mobile to cut back in areas that aren’t profitable enough for them.
XDA Recognized Developer PecanCM has been working on beta versions of CyanogenMod 13 for the Sony Xperia M for a while now. Thanks to his work, the device is now receiving official nightly builds of CM13.
MediaTek’s Helio X20 uses 2 Cortex-A72, 4 Cortex-A53 and 4 Cortex-A53 cores to become the world’s best 10-core mobile SoC. There have been some rumors lately that claim the chip has been overheating during lab tests, but today the company refutes those rumors on their official Weibo account. MediaTek says if the chip does start to heat up, it will shut off the two Cortex A72 cores.
Evan Blass has just leaked what is said to be the press render for the upcoming Lumia 650 from Microsoft. Not only that, but he also says this is planned to be the last Lumia ever released. Plans like this can always change at the drop of a hat, but there has been rumors about Microsoft starting to use the Surface brand for their smartphones.
Not everyone is seeing the Podcasts section under the Music Library section of their Google Play Music application, but some are. So it looks like Google has finally started doing a slow rollout of the service to its users.
