The Apple iPhone 13 is the best smartphone for most T-Mobile subscribers. It uses Apple’s new A15 Bionic chip to offer unmatched performance. In addition, the phone is excellent value for money as it’s increasingly becoming typical for flagship smartphone prices to cross the $1,000 barrier. Of course, the Pro iPhones add many bells and whistles that sound enticing, but not everyone needs them or cares for them.
Apart from a powerful SoC, Apple has packed in an upgraded dual-camera system that takes fantastic photos. There’s also a bigger battery on board, allowing the phone to last through a day easily.

Best T-Mobile premium flagship phone: Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra
If you want a phone with not the most absolute cutting-edge bells and whistles smartphone hardware, then the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is it. It’s got a screen that’s larger, brighter, more pixel-dense with a faster refresh rate than the iPhone 12, and its main camera system has four cameras covering the widest focal length spectrum of any smartphone right now. Whether it’s a sweeping ultra-wide landscape shot, a telephoto portrait-style shot, or a 10x zoom, the S21 Ultra can produce a crisp, beautiful image.
The Galaxy S21 Ultra also has the most powerful SoC in Android right now — the Snapdragon 888 — along with support for Samsung features such as the S-Pen and DeX. Other than folding in half, there isn’t a single new smartphone feature that isn’t in this phone.

The phone also comes in vibrant fun colors, and IP67 water and rust resistance, and 25W fast wired charging with the charging brick included in the box.
There are some compromises of course, including a plasticky body and a pair of mostly pointless depth-and macro-sensors, but it’s a fair trade-off for the lower price. This is a phone that gives you the essentials.

Best T-Mobile foldable phone: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3
Samsung continues to invest significantly in its foldable smartphones, the result of which is visible in the company’s latest foldable flagship — the Galaxy Z Fold 3. It isn’t a massive upgrade over the Galaxy Z Fold 2, but the new phone focuses on the thing that matters the most in a foldable right now — durability. That’s why it’s our pick for the best foldable phone you can buy on T-Mobile.
The Z Fold 3 features a new PET-based screen protector that’s said to be significantly more robust than the one present on the Z Fold 2. The hinge has also been upgraded. In addition, the Fold 2 is IPX8 water-resistant. Another highlight of the phone is its S Pen support. It’s the first foldable to support a stylus.

While you can’t expect flagship components here at this price point, you’re still getting a modern design with slim bezels wrapping around a 6.5 inch 90Hz screen, and a Snapdragon 480 SoC that supports 5G connectivity.
You also get a huge 5,000 mAh battery that all but guarantees at least a day and a half battery life. Although the 4GB of RAM and UFS 2.1 storage means this phone won’t zip around as quickly as higher-priced phones on this list.
- The OnePlus Nord N200 5G is one of the cheapest 5G phones in the US right now, and you get a nice modern design, a high refresh screen, and a huge battery with the package.
Also great: T-Mobile Revvl V Plus 5G
If you really want a new phone at the lowest price possible, T-Mobile has a 5G ready handset named Revvl V Plus that costs just $199 or $8.34 a month over 24 months. The Revvl V Plus runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 700, and packs a huge screen (6.8 inches, HD+ LCD) and battery (5,000 mAh) along with a 16MP main camera.
We like the color scheme and the flat sides of the device, but the bezels look a bit dated compared to the similarly priced OnePlus Nord N200.
